What is better for a doctor going into management? An executive MBA from Emory or UC San Diego?

I have 10 years of clinical experience as a cardiologist and would like to make a career change. I have been accepted to both programs. The San Diego program may be a bit more intense but it is quite new and no real track record yet. It looks promising, however. What is more important? Track record? Network? Reputation? Yes, I have thought about the MBA for a long time and feel it is the right step for me. Thanks!

A suggestion: Look into the Anderson School of the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, NM.
You may just like it.

If you can afford the rent, I’d go for UC San Diego. The Emory area and downtown Atlanta *****. Emory is a very good college for wealthy kids who aren’t quite smart enough for the Ivy League.

If you plan to live in the south, then go to Emory. If not, the USC is probably better. You might also considering going to a full time or part time program. Executive MBA’s do not really teach you anything and it is just a way to pay for the degree.
