Can someone please explain to me what exactly it is a wireless communication engineer does. What type of jobs can one get with this degree? is it a growing field also? thanks

Wireless Communication was recently added to meet the growing need in wireless communications and networking. The option provides a solid background in the areas of conventional communications, modern computer networks and protocols, wireless network design and management, wireless networks, wireless web protocols, internet programming, databases, distributed transaction processing, and security. The Wireless Communication option is concerned with the design and implementation of projects related to wireless systems.

    Designing large wireless systems can be very complex. I have to guess that this option gets you started on this.

    You need to be sure what kind of degree you get from this, I can see this as either an engineering degree or a technology degree. Either can be good, but you should be sure you know which.

    Is this part of an engineering degree program, presumably in the EE department? If so could be a good application area.

    As to whether it’s growing… in THIS economy? Nothing is growing.
